Hello, 

I was born and raised on the sand dunes of West Michigan. As a student who appeared to be all over the place and involved in a variety of things, my interests have yet to cease. A Children's Theatre Company was the specific "thing" that led me to be where I am today. With an interest in children, expression, and performance teaching seemed to be a natural fit.

 

After my undergrad at Michigan State University where I studied Elementary Education,  I began teaching at Ealy Elementary in Whitehall, Michigan in third grade. After two years in that role, I then moved to Grand Rapids to continue my teaching career as a fifth grade teacher in Grandville, Michigan.  Technology is an integral part of who I am as a millennial as well as who I am as a teacher. Unpacking my learning experiences and the intersection between teaching and technology is what this portfolio is all about.
